Code of Conduct

Keep the morning friendly.

Saturday Morning Cartoons is meant to be a small, comfortable, low-drama breakfast gathering. These rules help keep it that way.

01

Respect everyone

Treat every guest with basic respect. Personal attacks, harassment, intimidation, bullying, unwanted sexual attention, or hostile behavior are not acceptable.

02

Keep it friendly and inclusive

Everyone should be able to relax and enjoy the morning. Discriminatory remarks or behavior based on race, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, nationality, age, or similar personal characteristics are not allowed.

03

The host's house rules apply

This gathering takes place in a private home, not a public venue. Respect the space, follow instructions from the host, and remember that attendance is a privilege.

04

Honor personal boundaries

Ask before touching another person or their belongings. Accept “no” immediately. Respect the social purpose of the event. Friendly conversation is encouraged, but persistent flirting, unwanted romantic attention, or treating attendance as an opportunity to find dates is not appropriate.

05

Respect the program and equipment

Do not interfere with playback equipment, networking, speakers, displays, remotes, media, or the schedule unless the host asks for help. Suggestions are welcome, but the host makes the final programming and technical decisions.

06

Food and allergy awareness

Please note that we are unable to accommodate severe allergies. Use the serving utensils provided, keep ingredient labels available, and avoid mixing foods or contaminating shared containers. Clean up spills and dispose of your own dishes and trash.

07

No smoking, unsafe, illegal, or disruptive behavior

Smoking or vaping is not allowed on the premises. Do not bring illegal items or anything dangerous to the event. Behavior that creates a safety concern for guests, neighbors, or the host is grounds for removal.

08

Protect privacy

Ask before taking photos, video, or audio recordings. Do not publish another guest's image, personal information, private conversation, or attendance without permission. Never share the event address or entry instructions.

09

Be reliable with limited seating

Arrive on time and communicate promptly if plans change. With only a few seats, late cancellations and no-shows directly affect other guests. Repeated problems may result in losing access to future events.

10

Respect property

Guests are responsible for damage or theft involving the home, furniture, equipment, food service items, or another attendee's belongings. Repair or replacement costs may be requested when appropriate.

11

Listen when there is a problem

If the host asks you to stop doing something, stop. If a conflict occurs, the host makes the final decision about how it is handled during the gathering.

12

Consequences

A violation may result in a reminder, a warning, removal from the event, removal from the Discord server, or loss of future invitations. Serious behavior may lead to immediate removal without a warning.

In plain English

Be cool. Respect the people and the house.

Eat some cereal, enjoy the cartoons, make room for conversation, ask before taking pictures, and do not become the reason the morning stops being fun.
