Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

The practical details for a small, friendly gathering in a private home.

Who is this for?

Adults who enjoy retro animation, cereal, and low-pressure social gatherings. While the goal is a retro 80s 90s vibe, you do not need to be a cartoon expert or know anyone before attending.

How long is the event?

The morning runs from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Where is it held?

At a private home in downtown Phoenix, around 7th St. and Roosevelt Ave. The address is shared only with confirmed guests after the RSVP deadline.

How much does it cost?

There is no cost of admission.

How many people can attend?

The usual plan is six confirmed guests, with one flexible seat in case someone wants to ask to bring a +1. Small capacity is a feature, not a limitation.

Can I bring a plus-one?

Only when the host has approved that person in advance. A reservation is for the named guest and does not automatically include an additional seat.

How do reservations work?

The host will update Discord with the next events schedule and open registration a couple of weeks before the event. Attendees from the previous event will be given a 48 hour advance window to make their reservation. Otherwise, once reservations are opened, they are first come, first serve. The host reserves the right to issue vouchers or reserve spots for specific individuals without any restrictions. These terms may change at any time without notice.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Tell the host as soon as possible so a waitlisted guest has a fair chance to attend. Late cancellations or no-shows may be banned from the Discord and future events.

What food is provided?

Expect a cereal bar with three choices and possible milk options. The exact lineup is posted before each event. If you have a specific need for a specific cereal or milk, please feel free to bring it.

What about allergies or dietary needs?

Manufacturer's ingredient information will be available, but this is a home kitchen and cross-contact is possible. We are unable to accommodate severe allergies.

Can I bring food?

You may bring an unopened retro breakfast item after checking with the host, but bringing food is never required. Homemade or opened items will be declined.

Do we vote on what to watch?

Partly. The host chooses the opening block and prepares a short ballot for the audience-choice block.

Will the full cartoon list be posted online?

No. Public pages show only attractive, spoiler-free program notes for material being considered or already shown. For legal reasons, and because public showings of media can be restricted by copyright, if you must know ahead of time which cartoons will be shown, you may want to skip this event.

Are pajamas acceptable?

Comfortable clothes and tasteful pajamas are welcome. Clothing still needs to be appropriate for a mixed social gathering in someone else's home.

Can I take photos or video?

Ask first. Never photograph or record another guest without their permission, and do not post anything from the event unless everyone shown has agreed.

Is this a dating event?

No. The purpose is friendship and community. Guests should not treat the event as a place to pursue dates, pressure others for contact information, or make romantic advances.

Can I smoke or vape?

No smoking or vaping is allowed on the premises.

Is alcohol served?

No. This is a morning breakfast gathering centered on cartoons, conversation, cereal, and coffee.
