Why this exists
The cartoons are the icebreaker.
The cartoons give everyone something familiar to enjoy together, with plenty of room for conversation between episodes. It is a small social morning where a familiar shared activity makes conversation easier for people who may not know anyone yet.
The gathering stays intentionally small. Whether the room is filled with familiar faces or complete strangers, the goal is to create a relaxed setting where people can connect, talk, and new friends.

Enough structure to keep the morning moving, with enough breathing room for breakfast and conversation. All times are estimates.
Opening Block
Two recognizable cartoons chosen by the host so the morning starts easily.
Commercial Break
Coffee, refills, and a brief conversation starter followed by retro commercials.
Viewer's Choice
The room votes from a short, curated ballot of cartoons.
Off the Dial
An obscure, forgotten, syndicated, or unexpectedly questionable selection.
Sign Off
Share something you would like to see at a future event, help with a quick cleanup, and wrap up around 11:00 AM.

The cereal bar is nostalgic, self-service, and keeps the host out of the kitchen.

Everything will be set out so guests can help themselves throughout the morning.
No need to bring anything
Guests may bring an unopened retro breakfast items such as pop tarts, doughnuts, chocolate milk, etc. but food contribution is never expected. If you want to bring something that requires the use of a toaster, please verify with the host first.
Capacity
Small on purpose.
Keeping the gathering small gives everyone room to participate, join the conversation, and feel included. It also makes it easier to notice when someone has not had a chance to speak or connect with the group.
The social part
Memory Unlocked.
Each morning includes a relaxed five-minute segment where guests can share a favorite childhood TV memory, an odd piece of merchandise, or a show they thought everyone else had forgotten. It gives people an easy way to join the conversation without turning the morning into a networking event.
